The North London rapper who took grime from the underground to the rest of the world presents his new album.

For twenty years, Skepta has shaped grime: raw, fast-paced rap over electronic beats, born in the UK underground. Now, he presents his new album The Fork and Knife.

Born and raised in North London, proud of his Nigerian roots and rising through the grime scene, Skepta is now one of the most influential figures in global rap and one of the genre’s leading ambassadors. He has carried grime’s sound, language and culture to audiences around the world.

Standing still is not his style. Solo and alongside artists from different generations and genres, he keeps pushing boundaries. With his project Más Tiempo he explores electronic music, moving between scenes without compromise. His influence reaches into fashion too: with his label MAINS he blends his British and Nigerian heritage into a visual language of his own.

Music remains at the heart of it all. The Fork and Knife is out on 6 November, and a month later Skepta brings the album live to Gashouder.
