Pure Devotion World Tour
Electronic dance music driven by powerful beats, heavy basslines, warped vocals and melodic elements. The Pure Devotion World Tour brings that sound to the stage in a new live show built around their second album of the same name.
British brothers Tom and Ed Russell have developed a distinctive sound that combines the energy of the dancefloor with a more emotional side. Their debut album Good Lies marked their international breakthrough, followed by performances at Glastonbury and Primavera Sound, a sold-out show at Alexandra Palace and a night curated by the duo at The Warehouse Project.
With Pure Devotion, they take that sound further. The album was created during secluded writing sessions in Iceland and Spain, combining analogue synthesisers from the 70s and 80s with modern production techniques. Drum machines were re-recorded through a massive Marshall stack and a train station announcement speaker dating from between 1925 and 1935, giving the tracks a rawer, more distinctive sound. Imperfections, technical limitations and unexpected discoveries were deliberately made part of the recording process. The album also features contributions from British poet John Joseph Holt.
Across eleven tracks, Pure Devotion moves between direct club energy and more intimate moments, a dynamic Overmono carries into the Pure Devotion World Tour.
