The Harmony Opening Ceremony takes the beginning of life as its point of departure, moving from darkness into light. Music leads. Silence creates space. Nature reminds us where we belong. A continuous 90-minute composition.

For the Opening Ceremony, Harmony invites a group of musicians and composers to come together and compose music especially for this moment. The Harmony Ensemble will consist of:

  • Robin Scherpen – guitar

  • Muriël Bostdrop – piano

  • Joshua Dutrieux – synthesizers

  • Hedwif Kok – cello

  • Koor Pa’dam – vocals

Harmony is a new form of musical gathering centered around contemporary classical music. Harmony is not a festival, concert, or show. It is an innovative format built entirely around an intensification of listening, supported by a 360-degree visual experience. Across a series of ten music ceremonies, in which the boundaries between classical, ambient, and electronic music blur, this project brings together artists who work with sound and space with great precision and subtlety.
