BONOBO
Distance In Static
British producer, musician and DJ Simon Green, better known as Bonobo, returns with a new album, Distance In Static, accompanied by an entirely new Bonobo Live show.
The album brings together a striking lineup of collaborators, including Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis and Aanya Martin. Their voices move between English, Urdu and Japanese, adding an international touch to Bonobo's richly textured electronic sound.
Distance In Static draws on an equally wide range of sounds. Historic Iranian samples and guzheng recordings are woven together with Green's own processed instrumentation, giving the record a feel that's both deeply rooted and forward-looking. It took shape across sessions in Los Angeles, Tokyo and London, with a big part completed at Neil Young's Broken Arrow Ranch.
For more than two decades, Bonobo has been one of the defining voices in electronic music. His albums Migration and Fragments both reached the UK Top 5, his music has racked up billions of streams. Along the way, he's picked up multiple BRIT and GRAMMY nominations.
