This technical rider provides a complete overview of the permanent production infrastructure available at Gashouder Amsterdam. All specifications listed represent the in-house inventory. Venue Overview

Gashouder is a historic cylindrical gas holder in the heart of Amsterdam's Westergasfabriek cultural complex. Its unique architecture — a 54-metre diameter rotunda with a soaring central height of 14.5 metres — creates an exceptional acoustic and visual environment for both standing and seated events.

When the main stage is installed, the venue accommodates the following audience configurations:

Loading Access

The venue has two dedicated loading doors, giving independent front-of-stage and back-of-stage access for simultaneous load-in operations.

  • Backstage loading door: 3.00 m × 4.00 m

  • Frontstage loading door: 3.00 m × 4.00 m

Cargo Elevator

A cargo elevator connects the basement level to the ground floor, suitable for heavy equipment transport.

Maximum Sound Levels

In accordance with the Convenant Preventie Gehoorschade Versterkte Muziek, sound levels must not exceed 103 dB(A) Leq measured over a 15-minute period.

Stage

The main stage is built on a StageDex / EasyFrame C system and provides a substantial performance area with dedicated monitor wings and rear access ramp. A full 7 metres of clearance between the stage floor and the grid allows for generous rigging possibilities.

The venue holds a complete set of Dutch Barrier crowd control equipment, available to be configured to suit the production layout.

Power distribution is divided across three zones: Stage Right (lighting and video), Stage Left (sound), and Front of House. All connections are three-phase unless noted otherwise.

Sound System

The in-house PA system is a full d&b audiotechnik rig, driven by a d&b Newton system processor. Both the FOH and monitor desks are DigiCo Quantum 225 consoles, each paired with a DigiCo SD-Rack.

Lighting

The in-house lighting rig is distributed across five positions (LX1–LX3 plus floor and houselights) and controlled via an MA Lighting GrandMA3 Full Size console. All fixtures are professional moving-light or LED wash units.

A permanent black velvet backdrop measuring 22 metres wide by 9 metres high is available as part of the in-house inventory, suitable for use directly behind the stage.

In-House Infrastructure

A permanent infrastructure system connects the Back of House and Front of House areas, accommodating audio, video, and data signal runs. Temporary cable jackets are available to protect cables in public areas during the event.
